He was predeceased by: his father Sterling Heaton; his former wife Ramona Judd; his mother Myrtle Heaton; his sister Jane Ione Johnson; his son Bart Heaton; his son-in-law Scott Bentley; and his grandson Nathan Bentley.
He is survived by: his wife Merlyn Carlley McCormick; and his children, Brad Heaton (Mary Jo), Peggy Bentley Blomquist (Keith), Kurt Heaton (Pauline), Bob Miller and Cindy Griffiths (Brad). He is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren.
