He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Coleman and T. Z. Coleman (Alexander); his wife Alma Coleman; his son Denny Coleman; his siblings, Claudie Kimbrew of McClennon Coleman, A. W, George Coleman, Vernel Coleman and Canary Gaston; and his grandson Nicholas Diggs.
He is survived by: his former wife Evelyn Lois Canon; his children, Larry V. Coleman (Cherry), Vernon Coleman, Jr., Christopher Coleman (Keisha), Hazel D. Berry, Alma M. Diggs and Judith Francois (Tyrone); his sister-in-law Elzenia Nolley; and his grandson Andre Berry. He is also survived by 8 other grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
