He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Stanley King and Mary Jo Tillery Snead; his wife Marcella Lynn Dowdy Snead; his daughters, Dana Jo Johnson, Wendy Ann Edwards and Kelly Joan Coffman; and his caregivers, Lori Dowdle and Justin Chandler. He was also cherished by eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
