He was predeceased by: his siblings, Jackie Durham and Louise Barnes. He is survived by: his wife Esther Ruth Durham; his children, Vetta Ogden (Gene) of Springfield, MO, Esther Maddox of Woodville, Dewayne Durham (Debi) of Corrigan and Varney Durham Jr of Woodville; and his siblings, Rose Mary Durham of Woodville and Elijah Durham of Center, A. T. He is also survived by grandchildren and twenty-three great grandchildren.
