He was predeceased by: his mother Annie Mae Spurlock; and his sister Jennie Dale Spurlock Hein. He is survived by: his wife Karen Spurlock of Woodville; his daughters, Janet Spurlock of Woodville and Brenda Spurlock (Don McMillan) of Woodville; his brother Jerry Spurlock of Bullard; and his grandchildren, Brandi Pfleider, Christopher Allen, Chealse McMillan (C. D.), Cory McMillan (Jennifer), Cady McMillan and Donovan McMillan.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital, P.O. Box 1000 Dept. 142 Memphis, TN 38148-0142.
