He is survived by: his child Charles Davis Messer, Jr.; his wife Barbara of Silsbee; his grandchildren, Charles Davis Messer III, Kimberly Vickery, William M. Harvill II, Cody Brandon Hicks, Greyson Scott Gernand, Emily James, Thomas Causey and Beau Causey; his sister Barbara Jenkins of North Carolina; his spouse Lou Messer; his siblings, Frances Jenkins and Clarence Messer; and also, Cathy Harvill (Bill) of Elgin, Sandra Gernand of Jasper, Charlotte Causey of McCamey and Mary Storm of Evadale. He is also survived by six great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
