He was predeceased by: his parents, Phillip "Bid" and Gladys Bean; his son Bruce Bean; and his siblings, Zenobie Horn, L. D. Bean and Lee Roy Bean.
He is survived by: his children, Arthur E. Bean of Corrigan, Jimmy Daniel Bean of Lufkin, Debra Hackett (Larry) of Lufkin, Janice Hartsfield (Danny) of Lufkin, Tina Bean of College Station and Gayle Bean of Lufkin; and his brother A. J. Bean of Woodville. He is also survived by grandchildren, a host of great grandchildren, and (3) great great grandchildren.
