She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert Carl Ziehe and Lois "Elaine" Anderson Ziehe; her former husband Loyd Richey; and her siblings, Lynn Ziehe of Chicago and Gary Ziehe of Albuquerque.
She is survived by: her husband David Murphey; her nephews, Wyatt and Warren Ziehe of Albuquerque; her sisters-in-law, Anne Kathryn Ziehe of Albuquerque and Ruth Richey Maddux of Whitney; her stepdaughters, Mindy Hazen of Whitney and Danielle Murphey of Austin; her stepgrandchildren, Maddy Hazen, Talon Moore, Johnny Vela, Trevor Dickens and Zoe Vela; and her uncle Ted Ziehe (Velma) of Austin. She is also survived by many cousins and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requested that memorials be made in Kathy's name to Lake Whitney Ministerial Alliance, White Bluff Chapel in Whitney, or a charity of choice.
