With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Mary Louise Matula of Wharton, Texas, who passed away on May 5, 2021 at the age of 95. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Frank Hobbs and Johnnie Norris Hobbs; her husband Julius Chester Matula, Jr.; her sister Elizabeth Brown; and her grandchildren, Casey Matula and Melody Davis.
She is survived by: her children, Julius Matula III, James Matula, Susan Woolley (Mark), Rita Stavinoha (Johnnie), Rosemary Kalina (Gary), Glenn Matula (Veronica), Catherine Winkenwerder (Gary), Mark Matula (Connie), Teresa Davis of Canon City, CO and John Matula (Ginger) of Deer Park. She is also survived by twenty grandchildren, twenty-five great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.
For those who wish to, the family requests memorials be made to St Dominic Village, 2401 E Holcombe Blvd, Houston TX 77021 (stdominicvillage.org) where she lived for several years before returning to Wharton.
