It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Evangelina Y. Montaño of Weslaco, Texas, who passed away on February 26, 2023, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Espiridion Yarrito and Marcelina Yarrito; her husband Ruben Montaño, Sr.; her grandson Margarito Pompa III; and her siblings, Espiridion Yarrito, Jr., Enedina Venegas and Elma Sanchez.
She is survived by: her children, Ruben Montaño, Jr. of Weslaco, TX, Veronica Pompa (Isaias) of Weslaco, TX, Virginia Rivera (Jaime) of Weslaco, TX, Vilma Rodriguez (Roberto) of Weslaco, TX and Viola Rivera of Weslaco, TX; her siblings, Erasmo Yaritto of McAllen, TX, Jose Angel Yarrito of Weslaco, TX, Eliseo Yaritto of Weslaco, TX and Elida Gomez of Weslaco, TX.; and her grandchildren, Martin Pompa (Mary), Marcos Pompa (Linda), Jose I. Pompa (Gloria), Lucas Pompa (Kera), Ruben Pompa (Shawn), Laura Bonilla (Edgardo), Veronica Valdez (Roberto Carlos), Delila Pompa and Angela Pompa. She is also survived by 34 great-grandchildren & 3 great-great-grandchildren.
