He was predeceased by: his parents, Santiago Gomez and Sara Garcia; his wife Elia; his daughter Tirza L Garcia; and his sisters, Maria Jaehne, Noemi Barta and Hilda Golden.
He is survived by: his children, David Gomez Jr. (Veronica Gomez) of Weslaco and Elvia Gomez of Weslaco; his grandchildren, Justin P. Gomez (Callie), Jacob F. Gomez, Jocelyn R. Gomez and Linda L. Gomez; his brother Jimmy Gomez (Sylvia); and his brothers-in-law, Skip Jaehne, Lee Barton and Paul Golden. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
