She was predeceased by: her parents, Teodoro Cantu and Sabina Cantu; her spouse Geofredo Casares; and her siblings, Esteban, Leopoldo, Thomas, Roberto, Rogelio, Sergio, Mario, Teodoro, Consuelo, Maria, Guadalupe and Evangelina.

She is survived by: her children, Geofredo Casares, Jr. (Narcy Flores) of Weslaco, TX, Raul Casares, Jr. (Estela) of Weslaco, TX, Leticia Gamboa (Armando, Jr.) of McAllen, TX and Alicia Cardenas (Larry, Jr.) of Weslaco, TX; and her sister Oralia Salazar. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
