He was predeceased by: his parents, Allen Billingsley and Jimmie Billingsley; and his sister Deborah Billingsley. He is survived by: his wife Pamela Billingsley; his children, Michelle Painter (Jimmie), Maria Williams (Anthony) and Murry Billingsley (Melody); and his siblings, Ann Thomason, Becky Pursley and Norman Billingsley. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
He received his bachelor's degree at Troy State University in Alabama and earned a National Foundation grant for his master's degree at the University of Chicago in Champaign Urbana, IL.
