He was predeceased by: his parents, George McKone and Mary McKone (Dietrich); his wife Jessie Hayhurst; his son Robert McKone; and his siblings, G. W. McKone, Buck McKone, Mae Brown and Nettie Johnson.
He is survived by: his daughters, Gayla Pool (David) of Plainview and Becky Byrd (Rick) of Amarillo; his siblings-in-law, Wesley Hayhurst (Jo Ann) of Tulia and Bettye McKone of Tulia; his grandchildren, Amy Bryant (Johnathan) of Plainview, Jarod Pool (Crystal) of Juneau, Reagan Byrd (Sarah) of Amarillo and Ryan Byrd of Madisonville, TX.; his great grandchildren, Mallory (Anthony) of Washington, Courtney Watson (Ethan Hastey), Taylee Watson, Davyn Bryant, Luna Pool and Liam Pool; and his great great grandchildren, Adelynn and Aspyn of Washington. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
