He was predeceased by: his parents, Benjamin, Sr. Luera and Maria Luera; and his siblings, Robert Luera, Manuel Luera, Lupe Luera and Mary Helen Ontiveros.
He is survived by: his siblings, Pete Luera of Guymon, Ophelia Garcia of Tulia, Mickey Ramirez of Tulia and Molly Suiter of Tulia. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
