We bid farewell to Mary Leining (Texas City, Texas), whose journey of life gracefully concluded on January 28, 2025 at the age of 80. Mary touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her parents, G. W. Yates and Helen Sweeny; her son Joseph Aren Leining; and her brothers, Pete Yates and Ted Yates (Carol Morgan).
She is survived by: her daughter Cristie Ann Gutierrez (Simon); her grandchildren, Caelin Gutierrez, Laney Gutierrez, David Gutierrez and Lennon Barger; and her aunt Gene Strickhausen. She is also survived by numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.
Visitation was held on Monday, February 3rd 2025 from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Carnes Funeral Home (3100 Gulf Fwy, Texas City, TX 77591). A funeral service was held on Monday, February 3rd 2025 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Tuesday, February 4th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the same location.
Memorial donations may be made in lieu of flowers may be made to the Galveston County Animal Resource Center.
