He is survived by: his wife Gayla Payte (McAlexander); his children, John Cody, Sam Furguson and Tenisha Pace; his sisters, Eudena McCormick and Naomi Reppo; and also Clary Lynn Smith. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
