He was predeceased by: his parents, Betty Jo Hudson (Frank Otis Mote, Jr.) and Frank Mote; his children, Stephanie and Frank "Trey"; his sisters, Pat and Mary; his grandparents, Alford and Lena Hudson; and his father-in-law James Platter.

He is survived by: his adoptive son Mike; his wife Glenda Kay Platter (Katy); his son Sam (Jana); his siblings, Pete, Austin, Lynn, Rodney, Grant, Marcella and Sue; his grandchildren, Dustin and Byron; his great grandchildren, Haven, Frank, Kamden and Dawson; and his mother-in-law Fern McNutt.
