He was predeceased by: his father I. V. Hilliard; and his brother Steven Hilliard. He is survived by: his mother Helga Krystal (Schmidt); his brother Mike Hilliard of Temple; and his children, Kirby Hilliard of Wylie, Dalton Hilliard of Temple and Kim Sotero of Hillsboro. He is also survived by three grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
