He was predeceased by: his parents, Rose Angelica (Menendez) and Gilberto Ramirez; his former wife Linda; and his son Jason Ramirez. He is survived by: his wife Patricia Rylander of Temple; his children, Melanie Joyal of Killeen and Thomas Ramirez of Killeen; and his stepchildren, Kim Sanders of Allen, Cottle Rylander of Temple and Patrick Rylander of Victoria.
