He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph C. Pavlat and Angelina Pavlat (Zrubek); and his brothers, Joe Pavlet, Jr. and Dennis Pavlat. He is survived by: his wife Charlene of Temple; his daughter Denise Chenault (Mike) of Austin; his grandchildren, Evan and Kylie Chenault of Austin; his nephew Ronnie Pavlat of Texas; and his niece Karen Penler of Ohio.
