He was predeceased by: his parents, Maurice D. Paulsen and Orpha Paulsen (Kimball); and his siblings, Donna Kellogg and Morrie Paulsen. He is survived by: his wife Joan Lohstreter of Mandan; his children, Michelle M. Wheeler (Christopher) of San Antonio, Mark E. Paulsen (Heather) of Huntsville and Scott M. Paulsen (Jayme) of Robinson, Texas; his grandchildren, Cadean, Bailey, Tyler, Jaxen, Bethany and McKenzie; and his caregiver Dean.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial may be made in his name to St. Joseph Indian School, P.O. Box 300, Chamberlain, SD 57325.
