He is survived by: his parents, Robert Hartley of Temple and Sheila Roberts of Newport News, VA; his grandmother Joan Dillensneider of Hartfield, VA; and his siblings, Justin Hartley, Deron Kirby, Christian Jones, Shyann Karl of Temple and Rebecca Karl of Temple. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.

In Lieu of Flowers the family has asked donations be toward Chad's funeral expenses.
