He is survived by: his wife Barbara Carol Hawkins; his children, Doug Smith (Kristi) of Temple and Laura Smith (Robert) of Sulphur Springs; his siblings, David Smith of Watauga, Shirley Thomas (Leroy) of Ft. Smith, AR and Marilyn Cope of Grapevine, TX; his grandchildren, Chantry Rayl (Betsy) of Vernon, TX, Ryann Lackey of Sulphur Springs, Taylor Cathey of Sulphur Springs, Drew Smith of Temple, TX and Addison Smith of Temple, TX; and his great grandchildren, Walker, Justin, Beckett, Nora Jean, Oakley and Phoenix.
In lieu of flowers family request donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association or to Medical City Hospital for Children in Dallas, TX.
