She was predeceased by: her parents, Clarence W. Hitch and Nellie Dorothy Land Hitch; her husband Sonny; her siblings, Janice Wright and Wilbur Hitch; and her brother-in-law George Grounds.

She is survived by: her sisters, Doris Lowe of Albany, Carolyn Breedlove (Billy) of Arizona and Kay Stuard (Farrell) of De Leon; her sister-in-law Cristina Grounds of Abilene; her children, Buddy Strand (Joann), Hoby Strand (Kathy) and Cheryl Rice (Jerry); her grandson Eric Strand (Lindsay); her great grandchildren, Braylee, Hayden and Haze of Stamford; her grandson Todd Strand (Mandi); her great grandchild Mattie of Desdemona; her granddaughter Emily Strand of Killeen; her great grandchildren, Kamarie, Kamylle, Tre' and Cle Whitfield; her granddaughter Julie Courtney (Jesse) of West; her great grandchildren, Faith and Addysin; her granddaughter Rachael Kocian (Tim) of West; her great grandchildren, Caidn and Conner; her grandson Michael Strand (Crystal) of Pflugerville; her great grandchildren, McKenna and Axl; her grandchild Ember Strand of Houston; her great grandchild Walker; her grandchildren, Colton Rice of Boerne and Callan Rice (Haylee) of Stephenville; her great grandchildren, Lyvlee Joy and Wake Able; and her grandsons, Caleb Rice (Claire) of Abilene and Conner Rice of Anson. She is also survived by other relatives and friends.
