It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Kathryn Carter McCalla (Sheridan, Texas), born in Lake Charles, Louisiana, who passed away on August 2, 2018, at the age of 60, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Stephen Eugene of Lake Charles and Dolores Carter (Ducie) of Lake Charles; and her brother Eugene Orlando Carter of Austin. She is survived by: her husband Billy Frank McCalla of Sheridan; her sons, Michael McBride (Becky), Mark McBride of St. Louis, MO and Matthew McBride (Isabel); her grandchildren, Rose McBride of St. Louis and Kolbe McBride of St. Louis; her stepchildren, Kimberly Scott (John) of Friendswood, Bill McCalla (Jenny) of Lakeway and Greg McCalla (Sherry) of Friendswood; her stepgrandchildren, Hunter Scott, Hailey Scott, Brayden McCalla and Kinsley McCalla; her sibling Stephen Lyall Carter (Eve) of Mableton; her sister-in-law Caty Carter of Harrisburg, PA; and also, Frederick Carter (Kristine), Jennifer Sutton (Grady) and Marsha DiBartolo of Lake Charles.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 25, 2018 at 12:00 pm (noon) at First Baptist Church, 5801 Main St, Sheridan, Texas 77475 In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Kathryn Carter McCalla Scholarship Fund at St. Louis Catholic High School at 1620 Bank Street, Lake Charles, LA 70601.
