He was predeceased by: his parents, Essie Irene (Reeves) and Elmer L. Smith; his siblings, Dalton Smith (Odessa), LeRoy Smith (Mary), Paul Smith, Jean Eiland (Curtis), Helen Broadway (Paul) and Leonia Hoot (Anson); his parents-in-law, Agnes and Hilmar Herbold; and his brother-in-law H. C. Herbold (Sonny).
He is survived by: his wife Ruth Smith; his daughter Shauna Baker; his granddaughters, Kaitlyn and Lauren Baker; his siblings, Burl Smith (Delores), Dorothy Reneau and Gerry Kirkland (Glen); and his sisters-in-law, Sandra Smith and Glynna Herbold.
