He was predeceased by: his parents, James Lanning and Alice Lanning; and his brother Michael Lee Lanning of Lampasas. He is survived by: his wife Judy Edwards Lanning; his children, Jim David (Rain) of Portland, Jennifer (Jason) of Galveston and Julie Anna of Brooklyn, NY; and his grandchildren, Max, Ian, Caleb, Zoe and Anna.
