It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Maria Esmeralda Smithwick (San Diego, Texas), born in Benavides, Texas, who passed away on September 25, 2020, at the age of 77, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Luis Rodriguez and Alicia Rodriguez; and her husband Joe Smithwick Jr.. She is survived by: her children, Judy Ann Smithwick (Gary Killen) of Dallas, Texas, Jeffrey Smithwick (Becky) of Corpus Christi, Texas and Jeremy Smithwick of Alice, Texas; her grandchildren, Julie Ann Smithwick of Jeffery Smithwick, II and Jaden Alexander Smithwick; and her sister Elma Muche (Frank Martinez) of Alice, Texas. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
