He was predeceased by: his parents, Florentino Soliz and Agueda Soliz. He is survived by: his wife Leticia De Leon of San Diego, Texas; his daughters, Agueda Soliz (William Salazar) and Josie Garza (Ruben Garza Jr.); his brother Manuel Soliz; and his pet Piper. He is also survived by five grandchildren; two great grandchildren.
