He was predeceased by: his parents, Mario Oscar Perez and Alma Gloria Perez (Balboa); his stepsister Ivonne Hernandez; his stepfather Raul Hernandez; and his brother-in-law Jesus Alberto Castaneda Cift.

He is survived by: his wife Maria Teresa Perez (Trevino); his sons, Tristan and Sebastian Perez; his siblings, Hector Perez (Sandra Perez), Monica Perez and Mariannela Perez; his stepsiblings, Martha Isela Schneider (Rob) and Raul Hernandez (Ruby); his mother-in-law Teresa Davila; and his sister-in-law Laura Trevino.
