She was predeceased by: her parents, James Basso and Lovetta Basso (Thompson); her sister Joann Basso; and her close friend Robert "Rip" Wood. She is survived by: her children, Kenneth Wayne Benton of Douglassville, TX and Ronda Culp of Atlanta, TX; her brother James Basso (Tamera) of Temple, TX; and her cousins, Angel Cocanougher, Cheryl Cunningham and Dean Cunningham. She is also survived by ten grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren.
