He was predeceased by: his parents, Ada Lizzy Yeager Tennyson and William "Pate" Henry Tennyson, Sr.; his siblings, Thelma Frances Bright Barmby, Dorothy "Dot" Nell Mabrey, Orvel "Buddy" Lee Tennyson, Raymond "Ray" Wallace Tennyson, Clifford Leon Tennyson, James Hershel Tennyson and Ressie Alice Corene Tennyson; and his nieces, Polly Whisenant, Betty Green and Deborah Tennyson Howard.
He is survived by: his friend Reed Whitney; his children, James' and Lisa Marie Tennyson Black; his son-in-law David; his sons, James Whitney Tennyson (Dana) and Lowery Tennyson; his grandchildren, Madeline Claire Black, Samantha Reese Tennyson, Lane Riley Tennyson and Robert William Tennyson; his sister Betty Sue Cox; and his nieces and nephews, Raymond, Phillip Mabrey, Jimmy Dale Bennefield, Wayne Bright, Gary Mabrey, David Mabrey, Judy Tennyson Greening and Pat Witson. He is also survived by 3 sisters, 2 brothers, 2 half-brothers and 1 half-sister.
