She was predeceased by: her parents, Jesse Clyde and Evelyn Faye Nisbett (Trout); her husband Fred Bates; and her son Joe Bates. She is survived by: her children, Jeff Bates, Jean Cook (Larry) and Jill Fender; her grandchildren, Tawnya King (Jeffrey), Ward (Becca) and Tara Ottenbacher (Luke); and her sisters, Winn Tate and Elaine Mann (Gary).
In lieu of flowers, family has asked for donations to be made in Norma's name to the Daingerfield Church of Christ children's program.
