He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Odum and Gladys Smock (Cooper); his former wife Dolores; his wife Shirley P. Wiederstein; his son John C. "Chuck" Smock; his siblings, Beatrice Scott, Ethel Roach, Donald, Harold Lloyd and Gordon Smock; his siblings-in-law, MaryBelle Smock, Donna Smock, Tom Scott, Robert Compton and Charles Roach; and his great grandchild Holden James Irons.
He is survived by: his daughter Kathy Young (Michael) of Hoopeston, IL; his daughter-in-law Tara Smock of Arab, AL; his siblings, Mary Stillwell of Cocoa Beach, FL, James T. "Jack" Smock of Danville, IL and Larry Smock (Kenna) of Rossville, IL; his sister-in-law Sue Smock of Alvin, IL; his grandchildren, Tiffany Cox (Matthew) of Arab, AL, John T. Smock (Sarah) of Arab, AL, Eliza Compton (Derek) of Hoopeston, IL and Amelia Young (Andrew Prattis) of Hoopeston, IL; and his great grandchildren, Madeline, Aubrey, Lincoln, Dahlia, Augustus, Cayden, Peyton, Gabbi, Mark, Mike and Jax. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
