He was predeceased by: his parents, Clovis Brotherton and Jessie Brotherton; his sister Pamela; and his nephew Chad Brotherton. He is survived by: his wife Kerri; his children, Derek, Christian Garifalos (Shelia) and Jennifer Giddens (Albert); his granddaughters, Olivia Garifalos, Chloe Giddens and Finley Giddens; his brothers, Larry Brotherton (Tammy) and Charles Brotherton (Coleen); his nieces and nephews, Chelsea Brotherton, Haley Brotherton, Chason Brotherton, Charlie Brotherton, Beau Brotherton, Cameron Brotherton and Cody Brotherton; and also Karen Day. He is also survived by eight great nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Terry's memory can be made to "The Terry Brotherton Perpetual Mini Grant" in care of The Pasadena ISD Education Foundation.

“Mr Brotherton was involved in the City in several ways. He was always friendly and kind. Most recently I saw him at Building and Standards meetings. He asked good questions and made suggestions to people as to how they could handle problems with their property. He showed compassion. He will be missed.”

“Sorry to hear of Terry’s passing. This event brought back good memories of our college days when we were roommates with Tom Willard and Frank Maholic. Terry always had a special way with people and was very personable. It also brought back memories of our senior year in 1969 and the time we had playing football and the fun we had in high school.
