He was predeceased by: his parents, Osie Barnes and Bessie Barnes; his wife Patsy Barnes; his son Russell Lan Barnes; and his siblings, Jean Cook, Ophelia Sherrill, Daris Barnes, Evelyn Childers, Keither Barnes and Kathy Barnes.
He is survived by: his children, Curtis Leon Barnes, Metechia Gay Woolsey and Elizabeth Danielle Taylor; his siblings, Angeline Deal, Betty Icenhour, Joyce Watts and Jack Barnes; his grandchildren, Michael Barnes, Savanah Savelsbergh, Tory Davis, Amanda Barnes, Christi Rynearson, Tiffany Utley, Corey Barnes, Brad Barnes, Justin Dean Brittain, Robert Wesley Woolsey and Bailey Kerrington Woolsey; and his pet Jackson. He is also survived by 14 great grandchildren.
