She was predeceased by: her parents, Obadiah "Obie" Otto and Florence Hilda Beazley Etheridge; her brothers, Whitson Etheridge (Marie), Kenneth Etheridge (Merle), Obie Etheridge (Gladys) and Sanford Etheridge (Helga); her niece Becky Etheridge; and her nephews, Bobby Etheridge and Dr. W. B. Etheridge Jr..
She is survived by: her children, Laura Dee Hughes Swartz (Alan) of Flint, Texas, Martha Florence Hughes Silos (Isaac Jr.) of La Porte, Texas and David Pate Hughes of Deer Park, Texas; her granddaughters, Meghan Lynn Swartz of Austin, Sabrina Florence Silos Lee (Junhyuk) of Boston and Mandy Elisabeth Silos of La Porte, Texas.; and her husband Edwin Pate Hughes.
