He was predeceased by: his parents, Marshall May and Ella Mae Todd May; and his grandparents, Roy, Myra May, Harry and Betty Todd.

He is survived by: his wife Janice Edelhouser May; his daughter Michelle May Ramos (Stephen); his grandchildren, Rebecca, Elizabeth and Christopher Ramos of Waco, Texas; his daughter Rene May of Orangevale, California; his sister Melinda Handke (Greg) of Pinehurst; his niece Sable Gonyea (David) of Dallas, Texas; his great-niece Laurel Gonyea; and his nephew Mason Handke of Roanoke, Virginia..
