She was predeceased by: her parents, Earnest Davis and Leola Davis; her sister Lynn Thornbrough; and her son Richard Melton Jr.. She is survived by: her husband Richard Melton; her children, Bonnie Greene and James Melton; and her brother Harold Davis. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; along with several nieces and nephews, and a host of friends.
