With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Richard Lynn Scheer of New Braunfels, Texas, who passed away on February 18, 2024 at the age of 78. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Richard Lynn Scheer to pay them a last tribute.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Halley Scheer and Martha Scheer; his former wife Elfriede Scheer; his daughter Michelle Scheer; and his siblings, Celia Scheer and David Scheer.

He is survived by: his wife Dr. Mary Scheer; his children, Christopher Scheer (Marisol) and Kathryne West (Russell); his stepchildren, Michael Valentine, Barbara Baldwin, Rick Valentine, Sara Kelley and Christopher Kelley; his grandchildren, Kimberly Valentine, Elise Bogucki (Nicholas), Angelica Scheer, Richard A. Scheer and Shor Kelley; and his great grandchildren, Mina Bogucki and Clara Bogucki.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the New Braunfels, Texas Humane Society or the Dr. Mary L. Scheer and Richard L. Scheer Scholarship in History and Culture at Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas.
