He was predeceased by: his parents, Meredith J. Evans and Mabel L. Evans; his wife Gay Evans; his stepmother Evelyn Evans; his sister Joyce Reed; his sons, Burl J. Evans, Jr. and Garry Evans; his niece Patty Reed; and his grandchild Breleigh Ratliff.

He is survived by: his children, Jeff Evans (Mary Evans), Becky "Ali" Canyon, Larry Evans (Jennifer Evans), Debbie Evans Dietz (Ron Dietz), Toby Brittain (Seranda Brittain) and Kevin Brittain (Sobe Brittain); his grandchildren, Ashton Graves, Jefferson Evans II, Jana Evans Childers, Jessica Ingham, MacKenzie Evans, Delaney Evans Valdez, Megan Evans Tiscareno, Emilie Dietz, Lauren McComber, Alden Brittain, Mason Brittain and Erika Herrera; his niece Pam Greenroyd; and his grandsons, Rushton Graves, Jefferson Evans, II, Laremy Evans, Chandler Brittain, Kolten Brittain and Destin Brittain.
