He was predeceased by: his parents, José Salazar and Rosa M. Salazar; his siblings, José Salazar Jr. and Irma Salazar; and his niece Christina Salazar.
He is survived by: his daughter Josey S. Rodriguez (Reynaldo); his grandson Matthew Rey; his brother Jaime Salazar (Emily); his nieces and nephews, Missy (Tanner), Jenny, Jakob, Derek, Chase, Mia and Sebastian; and his sisters-in-law, María and Bridget.
