He was predeceased by: his parents, Ruth Walker Burk and John Leonard Burk, II. He is survived by: his wife Violet Burk; his sons, John Leonard Burk, IV and Guy Royal Burk; his stepdaughter Karen Schoen; his sister Mary Frances Keller; his brother-in-law Bill Keller; his grandchildren, Amanda Burk, Jessica Burk, Guy Burk Jr., Miguel Monet, Jonelle Burk and Annalia Garcia-Burk; his great grandchild Reni Rose Arres; and his nephew Jason Keller. He is also survived by numerous extended family and dear friends.
In 1977, he founded the Burk Paper Company and served customers in the Austin and San Antonio-area until the pandemic caused it to close in 2020.
