He was predeceased by: his parents, John Thomas Garrett (Tom) and Dovie Lorena Echols Garrett (Dub); his sister Karen; and his brother-in-law Jack Clement. He is survived by: his wife Mary Ellen Garrett; his niece Kelly Haferkamp (Brent) of Garland, Texas; and his sisters-in-law, Shirley Vogel (Don) of Mercedes, Texas and Betty Warrington (Wesley) of Harlingen, Texas..
