Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved Nova Dee Strickland of Mauriceville, Texas, who passed away at the age of 87, on August 19, 2021. She was predeceased by: her parents, Chester Holts and Iva Holts (Carroll); her husband Jerry Strickland; and her brothers, Morgan Ray Holts and Howard James Holts (Pete Frederick).

She is survived by: her daughters, Tanyia Kaye Barnwell (Tommy) of Mauriceville and Jerri "Hootsie" Strickland-Hurt of Mauriceville; her grandchildren, Tanner Barnwell and Lily Hurt; her great grandchild Lawson Barnwell; her sister Wanda Reinert; and her nieces and nephews, Iva Switzer, Dianna Herman, Donna Buffington, Joseph White, Robert Holts and Brad Holts.

The family has asked that all attendants wear a facial covering and practice social distance, in accordance with COVID guidelines and protocols.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at stjude.org.
