He is survived by: his parents, Harold E. Solomon, Sr. and Joanna Grimes Solomon.
He is quoted as saying" "Remember you might think you are guilty, but they may not be able to prove it so". Selected by his peers as a "Super Lawyer" three times by Texas Monthly Magazine in an area that included Dallas to the East Texas State Line. Husband, Father, and Brother. Avid golfer (member of the Lakeside Country Club, Marshall), story teller, and duck hunter!! One of his happiest places to be was his Duck Blind on Caddo Lake hunting with his Brother, Harold or one of many duck hunting friends. He won the Texas State Duck Calling Contest in 1979, 1992 and 1993, and in 1979 won the World Champion Duck Calling Contest, Stuttgart, Arkansas. Survived by wife of 49 years, married April 12, 1969, Diane Ward Solomon, Marshall, TX; daughter Shannon Solomon, Karnack, TX and son Coke Ward Solomon, Criminal District Attorney of Marshall, TX., grandchildren Brianna and Grant Solomon, Plano, TX; brother Harold Solomon, Jr and wife Sandra Solomon, Rockwall, TX; nephew Trey Solomon and wife Kristie, Gilroy, CA, niece Maria Solomon, San Jose, CA. Cousins, Kay Andrews and husband, Fred; Sharon O'Neal; Toddy Solomon, and Walter Solomon and wife, Carolyn. A lover of animals, Vernard also, leaves Odie, Lake House kitty. Preceded in death by his parents, brother King Solomon, infant sister Lori Solomon, great granddaughter Kenzlie Grace Solomon, and cousin Wanda Parker. I will always remember he and his brother for being the 'big sister' they never wanted. Rest in Peace, Vernard, your presence will be greatly missed!!
