He was predeceased by: his wife Lena Faye Oglethorpe; his parent Edward Fred Oglethorpe Sr. (Emily Ruberta Kirkland); his grandchildren, Crystal D. Clark, William D. Johnson and Dalton Smith; and his niece Christie Deason.

He is survived by: his children, Jeffery Glenn Clark (Fay), Sheryl Clark, Gary Clark (Nikki), Toni R. Clerk and Angela Greer; his sister Marie James; his grandchildren, Nikole Clark, Jesse Clark, Jacob Oney, Brandon Smith, Rachel Starr, Justin Johnson, Madison Clark, Koby Clark, Susanna Mathews (Clint), Juan Ramos (Bubba) and Kayle Webb; his great grandchildren, Jimmy, Adam, Madison, Mikayla, Peyton, Ellayna, Jaylee, Daniel, Lena, Hunter and Mason; and his nieces, Denise, Anita and Numerous.
