He was predeceased by: his parents, Nehoma Bethke Mercer and Earl Frank Mercer; his wife Rosa Elva Zaragoza Mercer; and his siblings, Earl Dean Mercer, Donald Lee Mercer and Angie Nell Patton.
He is survived by: his children, Alfredo Gomez, Diana Gomez, Larry Earl Mercer, Nahoma Mercer and Jesse Mercer; and his siblings, Linda Gayle Mercer, Doris Ann Mercer, Brenda Kay Mercer and Ronald Lynn Mercer.
