She was predeceased by: her husband Frank Mitchell; her parents, Karl Kuntzsch and Lori Killian; and her brother Gerald Kuntzsch. She is survived by: her daughters, Vicki Turnbow, Lynda Pierce (James) and Denise Hostick (Larry); her grandchildren, Joshua Ball (Kendra), Autumn Turnbow, Matthew Walker, Joseph Pierce, Sarah Hostick and Melissa Hostick; and her siblings, Dianne Young and Carl (Gerianne). She is also survived by five great-grandchildren.
In memory of Carol, her family suggests memorial donations to Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Lubbock.
